By William Dittman It is a super hot day in the south. All you can dream of is (If I had a swimming pool in my backyard I would love to jump in and relax). OK so you have finally decided to add that luxury swimming pool in your backyard. Do a little homework on your own. Read up about the different kind of pools that are available. Research the equipment that is available. Ask the pool designer to explain the difference between some of the choices of pumps. The difference in the pool layouts, and why should I choose your company over your competition. How do we find a pool company in our area? 1. Local Yellow Pages 2. World Wide Web 3. Ask our friends 4. Chambers of Commerce Make a list of about 6 to 10 pool builders; Call the companies to ask if they would be interested in bidding on the construction of your new swimming pool? Have a list of questions wrote down so you can interview them. You want to know if you can work with this pool company. Now is the time to find out. Not in the middle of the pool construction. First follow that gut feeling if you have a check in your gut. Try to find out what it is. Please do yourself a favor. Do not make your decision strictly on the low price. If you do find out why they are the low bidder. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Cheap is usually cheap for some reason. During the interview process 1. Ask to see picture of pool designs and also pools they have built. 2. Ask them for references of newly built pools 3. Ask them for references of pools that have been built for 5 10 years. 4. And call the referral and ask if you can stop by to inspect the pool. 5. Does pool builder stand by his warranty 6. Does pool builder have maintenance department to help with pool Before you make your final decision 1. Check the Better Business Bureau 2. Consumer Organizations 3. Make sure the contractor is insured and licensed 4. Make sure they build to local and state codes Be sure to read the Contract before you sign it. Best of Luck finding you pool builder. By Jim O’Neill There are a lot of people who are dissatisfied with one area or another of their body. You will often hear these people saying things like, I need to get rid of this stomach or I need an exercise that will slim my thighs down. The premise behind these types of statements is that you can lose excess fat in any one given area on your body without affecting any other part of your body. Maybe if you just knew the right exercise to do, you could lose the fat in just the area you want to lose it in. The plain and simple truth is; there is no such thing as localized fat loss. When you do a specific exercise for a specific part of your body, the muscles of that particular body part will develop and get stronger and grow bigger, but it will do nothing for getting rid of the fat in the area. Usually the reason people who do exercise get stronger but do not visually see the muscle development is because the excess fat is still covering the muscles. Here are the facts about the spot reducing myth: Physiologically speaking, muscle tissue is always firm. Muscle only feels like it not firm because of the presence of too much fat. Body parts that do not look toned simply have too much fat covering them. People are genetically predisposed to carry more fat in certain areas of their bodies, thus accounting for the extra buildup in these areas. When you want to lose body fat, you must create a calorie deficit within your body. This means that you will have to consume less calories than you burn throughout the day. While you will typically seem to notice more rapid fat loss in your trouble spots, you will actually be losing fat from your whole body because when your body goes into fat burning mode, it can not select different areas to do it from. When you start to lose body fat, it is genetically determined where the most rapid loss will occur first. Areas that do not store as much body fat will only have so much to lose, so you will see more fat loss in the harder spots as you go. Despite the popular saying, it is impossible to turn fat into muscle. They are made up of completely different types of cells and one can not convert into the other. You can only lose fat and replace it with increased muscle size. Also, you can not firm up fat, nor can you firm up muscle. Fat and muscle cells are what they are, and you cant change their composition. Simply put, softer muscle = more fat present and harder muscle = less fat present. Muscle tone is simply the visual appearance of muscle in the absence of fat. Sensible eating coupled with moderate exercise will help take off any extra fat, even from trouble areas. Just because you cant spot reduce does not mean you cant lose the fat in those areas. You just need to make the little changes in your eating habits and introduce a little exercise into your life that will make getting rid of that stubborn fat a reality. By Julia Tweed Planning your wedding requires you to make a multitude of decisions, but none may be as important as the words you choose to exchange as your wedding vows. A vow is by definition a solemn promise and, therefore, should not be taken lightly. These words seal your commitment to each other. Many couples wish to write their own vows, as they believe that their own words will be more meaningful than the traditional vows. Before you start drafting your vows, you need to talk with your officiant. Your faith or denomination may have requirements or your officiant may have specific words that you cannot deviate from. Once you have received the go ahead to write your own vows, the pressure is on to come up with just the right words to communicate your feelings toward each other. Whatever you do, don’t wait until the very last minute to write your vows. That will only create more stress and you really need to have the officiant review them, and approve them before the wedding ceremony. Writing your vows may be easier if you break down the traditional vows and analyse what it is that the vows are conveying. The traditional vows contain a statement of affection; you promise to "love and cherish" each other. You promise your faithfulness with the wording "forsaking all others". You vow to love unconditionally with the wording "for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health". Lastly, you are saying that it will be a permanent relationship with the words "as long as we both shall live". It may make the writing of vows much easier if you take the four base promises of affection, faithfulness, unconditional and permanence, think about what those promises mean to you, then convey your feelings in your own words. Another way to begin your process of writing your vows would be to take a piece of paper and answer these questions: Why do you love your fiance? What about them inspires you? What are your dreams for the future? What makes the two of you unique? What difficult problems or life trials have you been through and how did you work them out? Answering these questions may help to identify the special qualities and uniqueness of your relationship. As you write your vows, keep in mind that you are writing them for and about your fiance, be sincere. This isn’t a speech you are giving to the guests at your wedding. After you have finished writing your vows and they have been approved by your wedding officiant, practice reciting them. You want to be comfortable with the wording and you don’t want to stumble over any of the words. The most important thing is that when you look into the eyes of your soon to be husband or wife, you want them to know that the words you recite as your wedding vows are coming from your heart. This article was written by Julia Tweed. I am also the publisher of an ebook entitled “Getting Ready To Say “I Do”. This ebook is a step by step guide for planning your wedding. It starts with the magical proposal and ends with your life together after the honeymoon. By Frank Owen Many people overlook business cards when marketing and advertising their business. Unfortunately this is one of the costliest mistakes you can make. Business cards are a simple and inexpensive tool that can help make or break a business. Here are just a few things you can use business cards for: - As an icebreaker at a meeting or tradeshow or get to know people even at your local coffee shop. - Networking with other industry leaders or business people. - Improve your business image and professionalism by presenting clients and potential clients with an easily accessible resource with your contact information. - Communicate with strangers who may unknowingly need your service at some future point in time. - Introduce yourself in a crowded meeting or environment that may stimulate future business.. - Promote your business or a grand opening. - Indirect marketing that is cheap, low pressure yet effective. - Differentiate yourself from the crowd by soliciting important details about your business. - Increase the recall rate of customers. Think of all the people you have met in your life. If you passed a business card around to each of them that offered them something unique, distinct and memorable think about how much greater your profit margin may be. Every business card you hand out is a new opportunity to expand and grow your business. Hence any time you fail to use a business card you are potentially losing customers. By Sara Reed In many careers there comes a point where a person cannot advance without more education. Nursing is one of those careers. Online nursing continuing education was designed by universities to give nurses who have been working for a while a chance to further their education while maintaining their current position. Many nurses do not go into the workforce without an RN degree. But for older nurses, who did not need the training at the time, being passed over for promotions because they do not have an advanced degree is a reality. This is unfortunate, but a reality for many nurses. Getting the training needed is essential if they want to advance any further in their career. Online nursing continuing education programs offer these nurses a chance to earn an advanced degree. Courses are arranged much like traditional classroom courses except all the work is done at home instead of a classroom. Students are expected to turn in assignments and reports on time and also complete all tests required. The degree program can take a year or more depending on how many credits a student wants to take. Once a nurse completes their training, they will be better able to compete for higher level positions and earn a better living. By giving nurses a chance to train for better positions, online nursing continuing education is becoming more and more popular each year. Nurses who want to work in administrative or managerial roles can now get the training they will need in order to perform the job to the best of their ability. Even RNs who want to earn a maters degree can do this online. Having the time to work and still enroll in classes has been a lifesaver to many. Online nursing programs are changing the way people are looking at learning and about the nursing profession. To find out more about online nursing continuing education, Sara Reed recommends Nursing Online Degree. By Calvin Kuefer A body detox is a natural way in which a person can help their body to remove toxins and other poisons that have accumulated, and which can interfere with a person’s health and quality of life. Unfortunately our bodies are being continuously burdened with chemicals which it can not process and therefore can not be eliminated. Most of the toxins to be found in the body will come from the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air that we breathe. However, when looking for a body detox program it is important that you choose one which, not only you prefer, but also suits the type of lifestyle that you lead. Below we look at just some different ways in which you can detox your body, and so remove all those unwanted toxins and poisons from it. 1. Juice Fasting. This particular diet involves a person drinking only fresh fruits and vegetables and you normally will be doing this for between 1 and 3 days. 2. Water Fasting. Putting it simply, this is a diet where the person only drinks water. This particularly diet provides your digestive tract and organs in the body, with a chance to rest completely and is a great way for eliminating toxins from the body. 3. Alter what you eat. By altering what you are eating, removing processed and genetically modified foods, which contain large amounts of fat and sugar from your diet, and including whole grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables, you will soon reap the benefits. Whenever you are following a detox diet it is important that you should only carry it out for 3 to 7 days at the most or it may well compromise your health. However, a 3 to 7 day body detox diet is certainly beneficial for most people once a year. Most people will often try a body detox diet when they are experiencing health problems from fatigue, skin problems, or their bowel movements have become irregular, etc. What is important, though, before you start a body detox diet, is that you consult your doctor or a qualified dietician in order that they may eliminate any other underlying causes of your health problems. Lastly, in order for a detox diet to be really effective it should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise regime. By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Valerian_D.] Valerian D. Plant sterols or stanols are synthesized only by the plants and they very similar in structure to human cholesterol. Stanols differ structurally from cholesterol by a methyl or ethyl group in their side chains that are not produced in the human body. These structural differences make them minimally absorbable by intestine. On the other hand, plant sterols generate an inhibition of cholesterol absorption. Because many specialist claim that stanols can help reduce LDL cholesterol, manufacturers now begin fortify certain foods with these substances found in plants. The necessary amount of daily plant sterols for getting results is at least 2 grams. Fortified foods such as margarines and orange juices don’t appear to affect levels of triglycerides or of “good” high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. Nor do they interfere with the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E and K) At the same time, studies concluded that the addition of plant sterols in foods helped further lower total cholesterol. Clinicians evaluated a nearly 10 percent reduction in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (LDL is called “bad” cholesterol). Until then, long-term studies conformed absence of adverse effects in all individuals ingesting plant sterol esters. Therefore these products should be used for adult conditions requiring lowering of total and LDL cholesterol levels. However their use as a dietary addition in moderate to severely hypercholesterolemic children can be considered if the fat-soluble vitamin status is close monitored. Recently, scientists at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis made a pill containing plant sterols. They suggests that this pill might be effective.and more safety. By Joel Sussman Since the human brain seems to be able to focus on only one thought at a time, it’s difficult to evaluate an advertising idea from the perspective of both a marketer and a customer. That’s why it’s necessary to use a two-step process when developing highly effective ads, sales letters, web pages, and e-mails. The first step involves creating a rough draft of your marketing message, while emphasizing the strong points and best attributes of your product or service. Your message, especially your headline, should strive to capture your prospects’ attention, focus on the many benefits they’ll experience, and outline the important features and selling points. The first draft should include a call to action, as well as whatever contact information is necessary to get the prospect to follow through. Navigate Through Expected Sales Objections Possibly the most daunting obstacle to generating inquiries and making sales is human inertia, which is basically the tendancy to postpone, deliberate, and procrastinate. The best way to overcome that is to create a sense of urgency by imposing a deadline for taking action. Whether your supplies are limited — or prices are about to go up — or the prospect must act now “before it’s too late”, there needs to be a feeling of urgency conveyed if you are to be successful in overcoming the powerful forces of inaction and indecisiveness. Other obstacles in the sales process that you need to overcome early on include skepticism, mistrust, and pessimism. The ideal marketing message would remove any doubt in the customer’s mind about quality, competitive prices, ongoing customer support, and the customer’s ability to get a refund if they’re dissatisfied. One common mindset that many prospects have is, “It sounds like a good product/service, but it probably won’t work for me.” A strategy you can use for overcoming that negative attitude is to include testimonials of satisfied customers — just like them — in your marketing materials. Bypass Your Ego to Connect With Buyers Part two of this marketing process is often ignored by small business owners and even some advertising agencies, but it can spell the difference between success and failure. It involves stepping back and looking at your message from the standpoint of your target audience. Here are two important questions to ask yourself: “Are they going to notice the ad or the sales message at all?” and “If they do notice it, why should they care?” If you’re not sure, then that’s a clear sign you need to strengthen your sales message and gear it more to the needs of your intended audience. In order to create a winning ad or marketing campaign, it’s necessary to ask yourself these blunt questions, and have the flexibility to make changes in your headlines, ad layout, graphics, ad copy, or marketing strategy. Getting a second or third opinion from people who will give you the unvarnished truth (as they see it) can help you develop a winning, original marketing message that will generate a profitable response. If your marketing efforts fail to rise above the clutter of all the hundreds of nondescript ads, emails, and competing offers that the public is bombarded with every day, then your marketing message will be about as effective as a whisper on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Challenge yourself to produce compelling, high-impact marketing messages that will command attention and trigger a response from your target group. By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Low_Jeremy] Low Jeremy Are you aware of what athetoid cerebral palsy is? If you are not, then it is important that you proceed on reading this article. It is important that you are fully aware of what it is so that you will know if your child has athetoid cerebral palsy at an early age and treat him/her immediately. Read on and learn more facts about this type of cerebral palsy. Athetoid cerebral palsy is accounted for about 10 to 20 percent of the entire cerebral palsy cases. It is commonly caused by the damage on the cerebellum or basal ganglia part of the brain. The basal ganglia are responsible for maintaining smooth and coordinated movements and whole body posture. Individuals affected by athetoid cerebral palsy usually demonstrate the following signs: Unmanageable, slow, involuntary writhing movements of limbs; Involuntary movements of the tongue or face; Inability to walk or stand without any aid due to poor muscle tone; Difficulty in holding or grasping objects; Inability of feeding themselves and perform various activities in their everyday living due to uncoordinated movements; Demonstrates drooling, griming, and thrusting their tongues out; and Inability to swallow food or speak normally (dysatrhria condition); The treatments for athetoid cerebral palsy-affected individuals involve a prescribed group of drugs known as anticholinergics that is used to decrease abnormal and unnecessary movements. It blocks the effects of acetylcholine which triggers muscle contraction when acted on nerve cells. Other prescribed drugs used in treating athetoid cerebral palsy are: Trihexyphenidyl; Benztropine; and Procyclidine. There are also physical therapies employed to help restore certain movements such as swallowing as well as to decrease slurred speech. The advancement of technology enables athetoid cerebral palsy patients to use voice synthesizers and other related technology to make their speech clearer. Although such type of cerebral palsy does not worsen as the affected individual ages, it is really distressing on the part of the individuals with normal intelligence to live with this condition. At this point, you care as their parent will help in motivating them to work harder and submit themselves to physical therapies in order for them to overcome speech and movement disabilities.
